The designers of the Lotus Evija, drawing inspiration from the aerospace industry, have fused soft contours and clean lines in proportions. This is most evident in the front end's swooping front lid. The "aperture" design concept also helps to channel airflow to the rear of the car, which in turn counteracts the lower air pressure and further reduces wind resistance. Each airflow channel at the rear of the Lotus Evija is edged with red LEDs, which create an eye-catching band of light that resembles the visual effect of a fighter jet's engine powering up to burn.
