To activate these materials, they must first be reheated at high temperatures within a certain temperature range and with air isolated from the environment. Furthermore, a small amount of high-temperature water vapor will be sprayed on the materials instantly as they enter the steam section in the activation furnace. This process helps the pores in the material to open up and react with the steam, while also developing deeper and inward to form porous activated carbon.
