Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP)
Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP Trays) technology uses high-barrier packaging materials to seal food materials in a gas environment that changes the content of air components to protect the good color and luster of food materials, inhibit the growth of microorganisms and delay enzymatic reactions. A technology to extend the shelf life of products has begun to be applied to the preservation of aquatic products. MAP technology can block exogenous biological and chemical pollution and prolong the preservation life of fish food. Fresh Meat MAP Tray technology generally needs to use CO2, N2 and O2 to mix inflatable packaging in a certain proportion, in which CO2 gas is the main antibacterial factor in modified atmosphere packaging, O2 has an inhibitory effect on anaerobic bacteria, and can improve the color of meat, N2 is mostly used as filling gas.
